Hi.
Putting it bluntly, I have a couple of radio shows on the internet, DJ at actual events & gigs when asked, occasionally dabble in remix work for bands and at some point, accidentally invented World Goth Day.
Back in days of yore. I was a musician treading the boards with various alternative bands in my home town of Telford, notably Nexus VI with whom I played bass (moderately), programmed (slightly better) and shared songwriting duties (notoriously).
During a lengthy creative drought in my writing I auditioned as a DJ at a goth/fetish night called Skin Deep in The Cobra Club, a Wolverhampton backstreet strip joint. Amazingly, it worked out and I started at The Giffard Arms in Wolverhampton as resident DJ of Seven Deadly Hertz (7DHz) and Hex In The City spinning goth, deathrock, alternative '80's and industrial from 2003 to 2007. I was also running an '80's night at the Giffard Arms called 'I Wanna F*ck Debbie Harry' & 'Pandemonium' at The Haygate in Telford.
For a slightly more detailed list of where I've spun, go to the DJ Appearances page.
If you want me to DJ at your event, head on over to the Contact page and we can talk details...
What Do I Play?
My DJ sessions usually revolve around 80's & 90's goth and alternative 80's genres, but can include (where appropriate) goth from
2000+ onwards, deathrock, guitar-based industrial and synthpop (not hard electro or 'oontz-oontz' EBM).
My happiest customers appear to be the ones who were 'getting their goth on' in the '80's & '90's.
Thankfully, I have quite a few good references to back that up from around the UK.
What Don't I Play?
I most definitely DO NOT play nu-metal or metal of any kind, especially female-fronted symphonic/gothic metal as that stuff really grates on my nerves.
Have I Got My Own Kit?
Yup. All I'll need is the venue to have it's own PA system with suitable inputs for my decks.
